Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Satellite Data and Unsaturated Soil Response
نویسندگان
چکیده
The importance of degree soil saturation in geotechnical problems resulted inclusion unsaturated mechanics various applications for several decades. However, spite recent progress remotely sensed moisture measurement, community has not yet taken advantage these advances analysis soils. NASA launched its Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite 2015 with the aim providing surface and root zone content over global land at 3-day average intervals. SMAP, as a widely validated near-real-time database, offers rich database scale that can be used studies considering behaviour. A study relationship between water seismic ground response is presented this paper using which includes tracking variations Earth's caused by earthquakes.

Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document
Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBDs) provide the physical and mathematical descriptions of the algorithms used in the generation of science data products. The ATBDs include a description of variance and uncertainty estimates and considerations of calibration and validation, exception control and diagnostics. Internal and external data flows are also described. The SMAP ATBDs were revie...

NASA’s Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite mission combines a passive L-band radiometer and an active Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) instrument in order to monitor the near-surface soil moisture and freeze-thaw states globally, with a revisit frequency of 23 days. SMAP provides three soil moisture products: a high-resolution from the radar, a low-resolution from the radiometer, and an...
